Lucky Landscape

I have often thought
standing was all one could do
so it was fitting for me to be me
standing in front of all those other shining stranding things just spinning
and with nature of such matters
a spiral curls between the systems of a slow transposing motion
and little wonderful worlds
I’m not who I was when I was water in someone else
but whose in me now I slowly feel
as I spread so easily across a lucky landscape

In the present
imagining the future
while working on the past
that is three frames, two actions and a pattern
wading through a process to be undone with grace
that is you, me and the light combined in rhythm
drawing a hand
setting up camp
a mild style soon to be wild
and a consistent you
a forever you
forever and ever and ever and ever
forever and ever and ever and ever
forever and ever and ever and ever
forever and ever and ever and ever
forever and ever and ever and ever
I’ll remember you hitting twelve o’clock
on Mulino road with your 2-smoke
smiling the biggest smile I think I’ve ever seen

Being unclassy but striving for gingerly was on the forefront of my focus
but no stains on the carpet
that was my real victory
and of course
James, Billy, Skaggs and the skinny guy who ran the pumps
all in a club next to the little airport
with a secret handshake
And soft rural draw
They remain as stoic as statues
On a plinth in my left brain
But now I work under lizard lights learning to love the smell of enamel in the earliest parts of morning
And
until an estate sale takes me back
Ill just have to care for the apple seed
I planted from the tree in our backyard

All I see
is so deeply green
and all I want
is to be
a free form fractal pattern
mirrored In the chasm
seen by know one
but intimately conscious of my form
treading lightly
among friends of stone
on a path that’s breathing
looking onward
at all that existed prior
while it simultaneously happened
and unhappened
but has yet to happen
all that is present
is so greatly untreasured
and all I want
is to be
found among and lost between
canyons of red
seen by know one
but innately conscious of my passing
my passing onward
behind the past
from within visions that breathe
that breathe

When the color is gone from your face
and the light falls short on the flowers
every stone spire in this complex
cracks at its still curve
as you signal openly
For life itself to find symmetry
For life itself to find symmetry
For life itself to find symmetry
For life itself to find symmetry
For life itself to find symmetry
Symmetry
visually consistent in its chaotic contingency
organized by an entropic system
pulling endlessly at our desire to manifest balance
all to enable the structures that bind us
on the tethers of determined direction
we mustn’t twirl in the collection
of concepts impossible
rather, let us rally to our given vision
seeded in the chemistry of a single destiny
and from there we are anywhere
As anyone
